CONTEMPORARY SCHOOL OF YOGA250 hours TEACHER TRAINING

Our Teacher Training Course is for future thinking yoga practitioners who want the opportunity to embrace a more authentic and creative approach to teaching yoga. We believe in a pioneering approach to yoga that celebrates individuals for their diverse needs and abilities. Unlike some trainings that teach you one particular brand or style, Contemporary School of Yoga both encourages and inspires you to explore and embrace multiple approaches to help better understand why you are teaching what you are teaching, to whom you are teaching. In other words;

YOGA STARTS WITH WHY!

In order to achieve this, we take you on a journey from the traditions and philosophy of yoga towards a transformational personal inquiry of your own. We help you to explore anatomy (both physical, and energetic) in your own unique body, encouraging you to share your experience with others to embrace the full spectrum of diversity that makes us human beings.

  • Yoga can be so much more life changing than making precise shapes on a mat.
  • Yoga is about living. Yes, it includes a physical practice, but the real magic happens off the mat.
  • Yoga can be a career, but you can also incorporate yoga teachings in any profession, or blend its lessons with other life skills and passions.
  • Yoga should be fun! It’s odd when we hear that some yoga teacher trainings can be so serious and leave students feeling not enough. We want you to embrace what makes you unique and allow your authentic teacher to shine.

Our new and improved hybrid + in person online 250hr teacher training.

Over the last few years, we have seen a huge shift from yoga classes being taught in studios and halls, to streaming classes from home. As a present-day yoga teacher, we believe you need the skills and confidence to do both. Helping you to explore the right environment and platform for your success.

OUR NEXT TEACHER TRAINING STARTS IN MARCH 2021

TESTIMONIALS

“I have nothing but praise for this course! Within 6 months we covered ancient yogic spirituality, in-depth anatomy, vinyasa, hatha, hot yoga, yin, restorative, pranayama, meditation, and the fundamental tools you need to become a yoga teacher including; designing sequences, having confidence and promoting your business. So much care had been taken when putting together our manuals and reading lists, both of which I will keep and treasure.

The course tutor, Richard George, plays an enormous part in making this course so magical. His experience, wisdom and yoga teaching are unique, profound and challenging. He takes care of his students and is always there to support us when needed. The camaraderie nurtured between students was so beautiful, we all remain firm friends.”

Harriet

“I was nervous about not being able to get into each pose and worried about how I would teach if I couldn’t get into the poses. As I started the teacher training, I realised that yoga was deeper than getting into the poses. Since the training I have been able to acknowledge and incorporate the body in my therapeutic work and have started to think about how to support others to apply yogic philosophy on and off the mat.”

“Richard is an amazing teacher trainer, down to earth, fun, caring, with great wisdom and experience in many styles of yoga, He has the unique ability to enable people to shine, creating a safe, supportive and vibrant environment, a perfect cradle for creativity and self-expression. Richard’s approach to yoga is fresh, non-dogmatic and inclusive. His vast knowledge, combined with his unique sensitivity and experience, enables him to combine a best between ancient wisdom and new scientific approach in anatomy and movement. His shamanic background also adds further depth to the yoga practice. Contemporary, experiential, somatic, whole, modern…. No label can really pin down what Richard transmits. To me it is the essence of yoga, the discovery of the whole and union with your true self, whoever you are.”
