Richard offers a certified in depth 250 hour teacher trainer plus in conjunction with Contemporary School of Yoga.
Our mission is to inspire a new generation of contemporary yoga teachers, paying deep respect of the origins of yoga, and supporting those who are willing to be pioneers and take yoga to the next level. We are confident that our graduates will have the skills to go out into the world, find themselves, teach and inspire change.
CSY offers a 250hour Teacher Trainer Plus to a select group each year. Our Teacher Trainer Plus stands above other 200hour Foundation Trainings because it acknowledges the need for in depth teaching experience, skills, and advice rather than just helping you to improve your personal asana practice. We offer unique mentoring, support and training, which include an emphasis on you teaching throughout the course and developing your skills to become part of a new generation of yoga teachers.
Our unique course offers a multi-disciplinary yoga teacher training, recognised and accredited by Yoga Alliance Professionals. It is the perfect foundation Teacher training for anyone wishing to start on their journey as a yoga teacher or serve as an additional training to those who have already completed a teacher training but feel that they require greater knowledge and confidence to become an amazing yoga facilitator.
What will the course be covering?
This 6-month programme will examine all aspects of yoga, from the physical practices of asana, pranayama, meditation and anatomy in its many layers and forms. There will also be an in depth study of the philosophy of yoga, the key Yogic Philosophical texts, and spiritual concepts made relevant to todays world.
We will also be teaching you how to teach in today’s contemporary culture. Covering everything from sequencing, adjustments, building confidence, vocal projection, and contemporary methods of promotion and social media.
The course will leave you with an understanding of how to teach many styles or forms of yoga, including Hatha, Vinyasa, Hot Yoga, Yin and Restorative. Providing you with the knowledge to put together your own yoga sequences, and with confidence your own style.

How experienced do I need to be at yoga?
Our mission for CSY Teacher Trainer plus program is to set a higher standard of teaching from our graduates, Although a large portion of your course will be aimed at deepening your understanding of the practice of yoga, we do require that you have a sufficient level of asana practice prior to the course. You should have a minimum of 2 years consistent practice (this could be attending classes, self practice or a combination of both) and that you be practicing yoga 5-6 times a week prior to the training. The main emphasis of our training course is to teach you the depths of yoga and to give you a whole range of teaching tools to make you one of the new pioneers of yoga teaching.
Enthusiasm and passion for yoga is more important to us than if you are fluent in Sanskrit and able to practice “difficult” yoga postures.
It is a requirement that you have attended a minimum of 20 hours of classes with Richard George, your course tutor, to ensure that the teacher/student relationship is going to work.
If for any reason you cannot attend Richard’s classes an assessment day will be arranged, so that you can meet your course tutor and discuss if the course is suitable for you.
